Weight has been a struggle for me since I was a kid. I blame it on “Genetics” since on my mom side, they are fairly well rounded. My bro and I would easily gain weight. Back in 2004 and 2005, I gained so much weight that my mom will tease me of my sudden weight gain. I was irked out and hated her for being hard on me and I’m her daughter. But it was a wake up call coz I looked pregnant with my bloated tummy and I went from size 4 to size 8. YIKES!!!. So, I joined 24 hours fitness and workout 6X a week. By summer of 2006, I lost weight and everyone noticed it. I was elated. Came summer of 2008 and I gained 5lbs. I was livid!!. I thought I was working out (so I thought) at our fitness gym at work, but the scale ain’t lying, my skinny jean is tighter and Ge’s been poking my growing “muffin top”. So I signed up for Bally’s, and a month later hired a personal trainer (it was expensive and I sacrificed a Louis Vuitton purse for this). It was hard at first and there are days that I just want to cry and give up on those hard core leg workouts but I did not want to give up. I learned a lot from Lawrence (personal trainer), he said that I need to eat healthy and work out consistently to get the results I want. 16 sessions after (2 months), I lost 5 lbs, felt tighter and stronger, and I dropped 1 pants size. YEHEEY!!!. I’m currently working out at least 4X a week which includes cardio (elliptical, steps, spinning and interval running) and weight training (abs class and boot camp class). It’s still a struggle to eat healthy but on weekdays, I’m pretty good at it. It’s hard to maintain a healthy weight and there are days when I just “don't-want-to-workout”, but I don’t want to be a failure. I challenge myself and I’m glad my sis works out with me coz she is my motivation esp. when we take that dreaded “boot camp” class, plus Hawaii vacation is coming up.
